Apple is planning a major iPad Pro redesign in 2024, we already know some changes

Apple is planning a major redesign of the iPad Pro in 2024, with a glass back, OLED display and MagSafe charging system.

Apple recently updated its iPad Pro line with a faster M2 processor that offers increased performance and better battery life. While the changes were incremental with the latest update, the company is looking to revamp the iPad Pro for 2024. The iPad Pro has featured the same design since 2018 and the company has only introduced minor updates to the iPad Pro. exterior so far.

In his last Power On newsletterMark Gurman says the company is looking to bring a major redesign of the iPad Pro next year. This year, the company is only looking to incorporate minor changes to the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini 6. If the news carries any weight, Apple could introduce the revamped iPad Pro as soon as spring 2024. with a complete redesign and an OLED screen.

« I don’t see any major updates for the entry-level models, the iPad mini or the Air, in 2023. The iPad Pro certainly won’t get anything major this year. Instead, expect a major redesign of the iPad Pro next spring, with a refreshed design and OLED screens for the first time. »

Currently, the iPad Pro features a unibody design and relatively thinner edges than older models. With the 2024 iPad Pro, we’ve heard rumors about the design and what we should expect. It was previously reported that the iPad Pro could come with a glass back which would also make room for the recharge MagSafe. The technology will be very similar to how the company implemented MagSafe charging on the latest iPhone models.

A revamped iPad Pro in 2024 with an OLED screen

Apart from the new design, Apple is also developing OLED screens as part of its transition to this technology. It was recently reported that the company is in-house developing OLED displays for future iPad and MacBook models in 2024 and 2026, respectively. On top of that, prominent display analyst Ross Young said that the iPad Pro models of 2024 will come in 11.1-inch and 13-inch screen sizes.
