Apple is investing more than a billion euros in Munich

San Francisco, Düsseldorf Apple intends to invest more than one billion euros in its chip development in Munich over the next three years. The location is to be expanded to become the European center for chip design with a focus on connectivity and wireless technologies.

As the Californian company announced on Wednesday, it will hire hundreds of new employees in the Bavarian capital. Munich is already the largest European development center of the iPhone group. Almost 1,500 developers work there in various areas, such as design for energy management and wireless technologies.

In 2019, Apple boss Tim Cook traveled to Munich and, in addition to the Oktoberfest, also visited the “Bavarian Design Center”. According to the company, around 4,000 Apple employees currently work in Germany. This not only includes developers, but also employees in retail, sales and administration.
