Apple is drawing inspiration from James Bond to design a hidden camera in the upcoming Apple Watch, after the tech giant patented a camera attached to the bracelet, allowing the wearable to rotate or detach to take a photo and make video calls.
Apple Watch
The Daily Mail newspaper said that the system will contain a unique tape that connects the Apple Watch with a magnet or latch, allowing it to be removed and reconnected easily. The potential Apple design mimics the watch Bond wore in the 1983 movie Octopussy, but patent ideas don’t always translate into real-world technologies.

video calls
Apple technology will allow users to take photos and make video calls, and the patent, which was first spotted by Patently Apple, was registered by Apple in March 2019, but was granted on February 7, 2023.
The document states that the design can include a watch band that has a first strap section, a second strap section, and an overlap between the first band section and the second band section. The camera is located on the back of the wearable device.
Ergonomic design
Apple explains that the design features an attachment mechanism that allows for quick or convenient release of the watch case or the main case body from the user’s wrist.
This key element allows users to rotate the device up or remove it from the band without removing the Apple Watch from the wrist.
