Apple is said to be producing a 20-inch foldable OLED screen that will later be applied to the MacBook.
Rumors about Apple’s big foldable screen have been circulating the internet for the past few weeks. This screen is reportedly likely to be used for the latest models of the MacBook Pro series.
Quoted by The Elec, Apple is reportedly developing a 20-inch foldable display technology. This screen is made by an anonymous manufacturer in South Korea.
In detail, this screen when folded will have a size of 15.3, which is larger than the iPad Pro and slightly smaller than the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro. This screen seems to fit for a laptop.
An additional report from The Elec claims that Apple plans to commercially release a device supported by a 20-inch foldable display in 2026 or 2027. So we won’t be seeing these devices anytime soon.
Before releasing these screens, Apple was working on bringing OLED screens to iPad and Mac. Currently, only high-end Apple Watch and iPhone models come with OLED panels, while other products still use LCD screens.
It’s not yet certain whether this news is true, because this isn’t the first rumor to hear about Apple’s foldable display. We need information from Apple to ascertain whether this technology will actually be present.
