Apple has informed podcast creators that the upcoming feature for having paid subscriptions via Apple Podcasts has been delayed, reports Macrumors. The function will now not appear until June.
Apple itself writes that:
“We’m writing to give you an update on the availability of Apple Podcasts’ Subscriptions and channels. We & # 39; ve enjoyed the response to last month’s announcement and it’s fun to see hundreds of new subscriptions and channels coming in from creators around the world every day.
To ensure that we deliver the best experience for creators and listeners, Apple Podcast Subscriptions and Channels will be launched in June. We will communicate additional updates regarding availability, and best ways to help you prepare your subscriptions and channels, via this newsletter. “
The new feature will give podcast creators the opportunity to offer their listeners paid subscriptions that can, for example, provide access to exclusive episodes, episodes without ads and more.
Apple originally unveiled Apple Podcasts Subscriptions at an event in April.
