As we read in Phone Arena, Apple’s efforts to dispense with Qualcomm are getting bigger and bigger, to the point where the company has begun construction of a design center for 5G chips, so that the company can design and manufacture your own 5G modems without having to rely on third-party technologies.

Let us remember that recently Apple had different legal problems with Qualcomm, while the modems provided by Intel simply had poor performance, so the company has finally decided, as with the processors, to take things on its own.

This announcement also comes with an investment of more than 1000 million dollars, so Apple is definitely serious about building this hub, which will undoubtedly serve the company for more purposes in the future, such as the design and manufacture of next-generation modems, for example, for 6G connectivity when the time comes.

This development center will be built in Munich, where Apple already has its largest development center, and is expected to become Europe’s largest development center for the development of mobile telecommunications chips and software for this purpose.
