The American technology concern Apple Inc. accelerates the development of its electric car and redirects the project to one with full autonomous driving capabilities. This was stated by Boycho Popov, editor-in-chief of Investor.bg, to Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.
Over the past few years, Apple’s automotive team has explored two simultaneous pathways: creating a model with limited self-driving capabilities focused on steering and acceleration, like many current cars, or a version with full autonomous control capability that requires no human intervention.
Under the leadership of the new leader – Apple Watch software CEO Kevin Lynch – engineers are now concentrating on the second option. Lynch insists on developing a car with a full self-driving system in its first version, explain the sources, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private.

In an attempt to control self-driving cars, Apple is chasing the Holy Grail in the industry. Technology and automotive giants have spent years developing autonomous vehicles, but with little success.
