Apple is about to shake up the smartphone world with a potentially game-changing update to iOS 18, which could be the biggest redesign since iOS 7.
According to insider Mark Gurman, Apple is working on significant changes to the design of iOS, possibly inspired by the VisionOS operating system, which could see a shift towards more shadows and 3D effects, and away from the flat design that characterizes the interface of Apple’s mobile operating system. has featured since 2013.
While the exact details of this update are still unclear, Gurman hints at a fresh, updated look that could arrive as soon as iOS 18, although Apple may delay these changes until iOS 19.
