Apple iOS 18 and iPhone 16 Series Development Details Revealed by MacRumors

On the 20th (local time), American IT media MacRumors reported that it had obtained reference hardware information for Apple’s next iOS 18 early development version and iPhone 16 series from a source.

According to reports, iOS 18 is being developed under the code name Crystal. especially. It is attracting attention as it contains references to iPhone models that have not yet been released, such as ▲D47 (iPhone 16) ▲D48 (iPhone 16 Plus) ▲D93 (iPhone 16 Pro) ▲D94 (iPhone 16 Pro Max).

Additionally, information was found in the code suggesting that the t8140 (codename Tahiti) chip, which is believed to be the same A18 chip, may be used in all models of the iPhone 16 series. Apple has been applying grading to AP chips since last year’s iPhone 14 series.

In the iPhone 15 series released this year, Apple installed the old A16 Bionic chip installed in the iPhone 14 Pro in the basic model and Plus model, but installed the 3nm A17 Pro chip in the Pro model lineup.

Starting with the iPhone 16 series, all models are expected to use A18 brand chips, but there is a possibility that the Pro model lineup will use the latest process or be equipped with chips with faster performance.

Meanwhile, according to early reports, there are rumors that an ‘Ultra’ model, a more advanced model than the Pro Max, will be added to the iPhone 16 series, but no information about this was found in this report.

If Apple is planning to release the iPhone 16 Ultra model, the media reported that it is likely to use an identifier such as D95 or D94a, which is higher than D94.
