Yesterday, Apple surprisingly announced its new product, the latest Apple Pencil with USB-C.
The new Apple Pencil sits between the first-generation Apple Pencil ($99) and the more powerful second-generation model ($129), priced at €95.
The new USB-C Apple Pencil charges via USB-C and does not support wireless charging or pairing. It supports the hover feature on the M2 iPad Pro models and can be magnetically attached to its side when not in use. The big shortcoming here is the pressure sensitivity, which is present on both the first and second generation Apple Pencil models. You still get low latency for sensitive input and decision sensitivity for shading.
The new USB-C Apple Pencil measures 7.5 x 155 mm and weighs 20.5 grams – almost the same as the Apple Pencil 2. The Apple Pencil with USB-C will be available later in early November and is compatible with the following iPads:
