Apple has begun offering options for new cloud storage plans via iCloud Plus services, which were revealed during the new iPhone 15 announcement event last week, but they are officially operational as of today, coinciding with the launch of the new iOS 17.
Apple’s new iCloud Plus plans offer more storage capacity for a higher price. You can subscribe to a 6TB plan for $29.99 per month or a 12TB plan for $59.99 per month.
revealed Camel It first announced the new storage options during last week’s iPhone 15 event, which it will offer alongside the existing 50GB plan for $0.99 per month, the 200GB plan for $2.99 per month, and the 2TB plan for $9.99 per month.
While 6TB and 12TB may seem like a lot of storage space, the new plans could be useful for professional or amateur photographers who want to take full advantage of the new iPhone 15’s upgraded 48MP main camera or store massive ProRes files.
All new iCloud Plus plans also include Private Relay, a VPN-like service that hides a user’s browsing activity from third parties, as well as Hide My Email, which generates random email addresses that you can use when you sign up for offers, newsletters, and other third-party services, allowing… You can hide your actual email.
This last feature in iCloud Plus can be customized and set the email domain as desired, or the user’s own location if desired, in addition to storing end-to-end encrypted security snapshots.
