Apple introduces iPad Pro (2024) with OLED screen

In addition to the new iPad Air (2024), Apple is launching the iPad Pro (2024). The new generation is equipped with an OLED screen and can therefore be made a lot thinner than its predecessors. The new model with an 11-inch screen is only 5.3 mm thick this time, while the 13-inch variant is only 5.1 mm thick.

Apple has equipped the latest iPad Pro with a ‘Tandem OLED display’, which simply means that two OLED screens are glued together for higher brightness. Apple indicates that the screen of both tablets offers a peak brightness of up to 1,600 cd/m2 and, like the previous generation, HDR display is supported. This time, Apple also gives you the option to opt for a matte screen with nano-texture. This costs 130 euros extra.

The iPad Pro (2024) comes with the Apple M4 processor. The new CPU includes up to four performance cores and now six efficiency cores with latest generation ML accelerators. This makes the CPU up to one and a half times faster than M2 in the previous iPad Pro. The 10-core GPU of the Apple M4 contains the same improvements as those in the M3 processor.

With the 12-MP camera on the back, you can take photos and videos in HDR. The camera also has a new adaptive True Tone Flash. With AI, the new iPad Pro can automatically recognize documents directly in the Camera app. On the front, the TrueDepth camera system has been moved to the long side of the iPad Pro (2024). The 12MP Center Point camera is ideal for video calling with iPad in the horizontal orientation, especially when paired with a Magic Keyboard or Smart Folio.

The new Magic Keyboard accessory features a row of function keys and a larger touchpad with haptic feedback. The new Apple Pencil Pro has a squeeze sensor, which allows you to change brush or line thickness by squeezing the accessory. The Pencil Pro is tilt and pressure sensitive. The Hover function is also supported.

The new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro are available in silver and space black, with your choice of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB of storage. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,219 (Wi-Fi model) and $1,469 (Wi-Fi + Cellular model), and the 13-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,569 (Wi-Fi model) and €1819 (Wi-Fi + Cellular model).
