Should Asus ROG Phone be worried? Apple has added a “Game Mode” to macOS this year, allowing users to further maximize the CPU and GPU performance of their computers. It is reported that this feature will also be available on iPhone and iPad, potentially allowing Apple to further penetrate the mobile gaming market.
According to the foreign media outlet 9to5mac, the same “Game Mode” was discovered in the latest test versions of iOS and iPadOS, indicating that Apple is conducting related tests. According to Apple’s previous statements, hardware resources will be prioritized for games under the “Game Mode,” and it may also reduce Bluetooth latency, benefiting users who use AirPods or external controllers.
Currently, Apple has not disclosed the details of the game mode for iPhone and iPad, and it may not be officially released. However, compared to the Android platform, both iPhone and iPad have powerful chips and support Promotion technology for a 120Hz screen refresh rate, giving them a certain advantage in terms of specifications. Overcoming heat dissipation will be the biggest challenge for Apple in competing with gaming phones.
