REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Apple on Saturday (30/9/2023) said it had identified several problems that could cause the latest iPhone series, the iPhone 15, to run hotter than expected. This also includes bugs in the software iOS 17 which will be fixed in a future update.
After complaints that new phones were getting too hot, Apple said devices may feel warmer in the first few days after setting up or restoring the device due to increased background activity.
“Another issue involves several recent updates to third-party applications that caused the applications to overload the system,” Apple said, as reported by Reuters, Ahad (1/10/2023).
The company also said that it is working with app developers to make improvements that are in the process of being rolled out. According to the company, third-party apps causing this issue include the game Asphalt 9, Instagram Meta, and Uber.
Instagram fixed its app issues on September 27. The upcoming iOS 17 bug fix will not reduce performance to address iPhone temperatures.
The company headquartered in Cupertino, California said that iPhone 15 The Pro and Pro Max do not experience overheating due to their design, the new titanium shell provides better heat dissipation compared to previous stainless steel models.
Apple also said the issue does not constitute a safety or injury risk, and will not impact the phone’s performance in the long term.
