Apple has reportedly pushed companies that make iPhones for it to increase production by 30% year-on-year (compared to the first half of 2020) to 96 million iPhones. At the same time, he wanted to strengthen not only the production of the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, whose demand he did not correctly estimate, but also the older models 11 and SE. With the basic iPhone 12, the manufacturer had the correct estimate, with the small 12 mini the demand is slightly lower.
The problem may occur with some unspecified components that are mounted on iPhones. There is supposed to be a shortage of them on the market, so it is said that Apple even ordered manufacturers to redirect them from the inventory for iPads, with which they share a large part of iPhone components. Apple sold about 43 million iPhones in the third quarter of 2020, and the Christmas quarter could be a record for the company. However, the results will not be added up until after the New Year.
