Apple has the potential to use OLED from BOE for the iPhone SE 4 – ANTARA News

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Apple is rumored to be using an OLED screen from a Chinese company, namely BOE, to present a pocket-friendly smartphone, the iPhone SE 4.

This decision was taken by Apple to reduce Samsung’s dominance as a screen supplier for its products. The Verge, Tuesday, reported that the iPhone SE will use the older OLED design, so Apple has decided to return to BOE.

Whereas previously BOE and Apple had a strained relationship. This condition started when BOE failed the screen quality test for the iPhone 12 which was released in 2020.

This continued on the iPhone 13, BOE made changes that did not match Apple’s initial specifications. Even so, for the iPhone 14, BOE regained the opportunity to manufacture screens for Apple.

BOE is expected to supply a 6.1-inch OLED screen.

Industry analyst, nicknamed “Apple expert” Ming Chi Kuo, Monday (27/2) brought news that Apple has decided to present the iPhone SE 4 in 2024. Apple was previously rumored to discontinue the iPhone SE series due to lack of enthusiasts when it was released in 2022.
