Apple, in partnership with Huish Outdoors, has launched the Oceanic+ dive app for the Watch Ultra. This app allows recreational divers to use their Apple Watch as a dive computer up to 40 meters deep. There is a free version and a paid subscription.
Oseanik + Available only for Apple Watch Ultra with watchOS 9.1 paired with an iPhone 8 or later or iPhone SE second generation or later, both with iOS 16.1. With the free version of this application, you can view your current depth during a dive, track time, view water temperature, and log some basic statistics from your last dive.
For €10.49 a month or €91 a year, customers get more advanced features like a dive planner. This allows the diver to enter surface time, depth and air mix used, after which the app calculates the time seamlessly. Users also have access to sitemaps, personalized suggestions, unlimited history, and visual and tactile safety alerts. For €135 a year, up to five family members can use the app. Apple still recommends completing dive protocols, diving with a partner, and always carrying a second device.
