Apple has an action plan to reduce its reliance on China

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says what was once Apple’s desire to reduce its dependence on China has now turned into a real plan of action after the country’s recent lockdowns.

Recently, the Chinese government decided to take a zero-tolerance approach to the spread of COVID-19, opting for lockdowns and lockdowns as soon as the first outbreaks appear. All this also caused several problems for Apple, as several partner companies had to stop the production of components for iPhone, iPad and Mac in China.

As the reports analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the recent blockades have prompted Apple to step up its action plan to diversify its production even outside of China. Specifically, Apple wants to invest more and more in Vietnam and India with its historical partners, so as not to be bound by the often controversial decisions of the Chinese government.

The company’s intention is to avoid slowdowns in the production of future products, given that new Macs, iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches will be presented by the end of the year.
