Apple has announced the launch of a new update for macOS systems, with which it addressed a software vulnerability that threatened the security of its computers.
According to available information, the vulnerability, named Achilles, was coded “CVE-2022-42821” and was discovered and reported by a Microsoft information security specialist.
Experts revealed that the vulnerability allowed hackers to take advantage of it to spread malicious software on Apple computers and could bypass the Gatekeeper security protection feature on those devices.
And Apple addressed this vulnerability in the circuitry of its computer systems: macOS 13 Ventura, macOS 12.6.2 Monterey and macOS 1.7.2 Big Sur.
Apple has also advised its laptop users to check the versions of their devices’ security systems and software and update those versions to the latest version of macOS that it has launched.
