A Moscow court for the first time fined the American corporation “Apple” because it did not delete false and prohibited information in the Russian Federation, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

The court session took place behind closed doors. Taking into account the arguments presented by the corporation, the court awarded it a fine below the lower limit.

The Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor previously notified the company that it must delete information related to the special military operation in Ukraine, which aims to destabilize the political situation. The information was published in an Apple podcast. For the first time, the company was held liable in Russia under such an article of the Code of Administrative Violations.

Reuters recalls information from Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) that in February Apple paid a fine of 906 million rubles ($9.76 million) in a Russian antitrust case for abusing a dominant position in the mobile application market.
