Apple Enlists Samsung and LG for Development of Bezel-Less iPhone with Under-Screen Camera

According to some sources, Apple has asked Samsung and LG to work on a completely bezel-less smartphone screen. Along with a hidden camera under the screen, it will be a first in the world of mobile phones.

According to a tweet from leaker Ice Universe, the Cupertino company is planning a bezel-less iPhone. The brand would commission Samsung and LG divisions specializing in screens with this project. The front camera will use UPC (Under Panel Camera) technology and will therefore be placed under the screen. This feature isn’t new, Samsung did just that in 2021 with its Galaxy Z Fold 3. But the innovation doesn’t stop there: Apple wants an iPhone made entirely of ultra-strong glass without a bezel.

Certainly, with the aim of proposing a new revolution in the world of smart phones, Apple will develop in parallel with its screen without borders, a one-piece glass body. We understand from this that the phone will look like a rectangle of glass without a visible intersection.

Technically, this may cause interference issues at the level of the antenna built into the phone. On the tactile side, the complete absence of an edge must be observed to avoid involuntary pressure. And let’s not forget all resistance. So we are still a long way from being able to take advantage of the transparent phones seen in many sci-fi movies and series. In the meantime, one thing is certain: the iPhone 15 coming in September will have many limits, and the Pro Max model will be the world’s thinnest.
