In the future, three focuses will be pursued regarding this Apple investment. The first is to build research and development facilities in Indonesia that are different from academia.
Second, the Indonesian government asked Apple to make Indonesia part of its global value chain. There are 17 registered companies that are able to make various parts for Apple products.
“Secondly, Apple needs to look at and make sure that Indonesia is part of its global value chain. And we have identified about 17 companies out of the 6 categories of Apple parts or components that can be done in Indonesia. We will do business matching,” he said. explained.
The third is to develop the previously built Apple Academy. For your information, to meet the 35% Domestic Contribution Rate (TKDN) requirements set by the government, Apple chose an academic investment path.
According to the Minister of Industry, they are building an Apple Academy in South Tangerang, Batam and Surabaya. Agus confirmed that HKT products that do not comply with TKDN should not be distributed in Indonesia.
