Every year it’s more or less the same pattern, thus relatively predictable for users. With the new version of the software platforms, the window closes for the generation-oldest representatives of iPhones and iPads, who will no longer receive the new version of the system, but will of course continue to use them.
In the fall, Apple will introduce the final version of the smartphone system iOS 17 and its tablet offshoots iPadOS 17. The update will be intended for relevant Apple devices (with the necessary hardware) up to five years old. This is an unprecedented long support compared to other brands that build their products on Android. Even so, some Apple devices will fall out of the supported list.
