Jakarta (ANTARA) – Apple is said to be developing chip Bluetooth and Wi-Fi itself to reduce the company’s reliance on external vendors.
Reuters on Tuesday cited a Bloomberg News report that affirmed development plans chip Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will take place in 2025. During this period chip both components are from Broadcom Inc.
Apple and Broadcom Inc. have not yet commented on the matter.
Apart from the replacement chip made by Broadcom, Apple is also reportedly planning to use chip homemade cellular modem late 2024 or early 2025, replace chip by Qualcomm Inc.
Apple uses Qualcomm’s X65 modem for the iPhone 14 line. The next device, the iPhone 15, released this year, will also use chip the latest from Qualcomm, according to Jefferies analyst William Yang.
Apple in recent years trying to develop chip own Mac computers for several years using chip Apple’s standalone, replaces chip from Intel Corp.
