Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Android cellphone manufacturers have already adopted the folding screen cellphone trend. Apple, which has not yet released a folding iPhone, seems to be preparing another device with a folding screen.
According to veteran analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is actively developing MacBook laptops with folding screens, quoted from 9to5Mac, Friday (8/3/2024).
Kuo said the device will have a 20.3-inch screen. He assured that the folding MacBook is the only foldable device that Apple is currently developing.
There are no signs of foldable iPhones and iPads yet. This is based on surveys and investigations by analysts who often provide accurate leaks.
“Recently I have received a lot of questions about Apple’s plans to release a foldable iPhone and iPad in 2025 or 2026. My latest survey indicates that currently the foldable product with clear development is the 20.3-inch MacBook,” said Kuo via his personal X account.
Furthermore, Kuo said that the mass production schedule for foldable MacBooks already exists, namely in 2027.
This is not the first time that Apple has been rumored to be releasing a folding screen MacBook. In 2022, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young said the company was exploring the idea of a foldable notebook.
In the same year, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that Apple was interested in developing a 20-inch folding screen device.
It should be noted, these various leaks cannot be trusted 100% because there has been no direct confirmation from Apple. Let’s just wait!
