According to the Indian TOI website, in a research note, it was indicated that the iPhone SE is expected to feature a 5G modem designed by Apple, however, it seems that the plans have been delayed, and earlier, it was reported that Apple has been planning to build its own modem since 2018, and for this reason, Apple acquired the majority of the smartphone modem business from Intel in 2019 to enhance these efforts.

The analyst further reported that Qualcomm may remain Apple’s modem supplier for both the iPhone SE and iPhone 16 series next year, as it appears that Apple’s modem is still in the works.
