The ‘Worldwide Developers Conference’, or WWDC for its acronym, already has an exact start date: from June 5 to 9, Apple will host the conference both in digital format and with physical experiences and, as usual, will announce news for iOS and other operating systems of the company.
Unlike other years, the most anticipated announcement does not have to do with iOS. After countless delays, it appears that this year’s developer conference will be the stage to learn about the AR viewer.
In 2022 at WWDC, the new lock screen customization feature in iOS, notifications at the bottom of the screen, the M2 chip and the new MacBook Pro were introduced. Since there is a history that WWDC has been the scene for hardware presentation, it would not be entirely strange for the AR viewer to make an appearance.
The viewer that has been named in reports of ‘Apple Reality Pro’ would use the new xrOS operating system and the prospects are so great that, according to Mig Chi-Kuo, in 10 years it will become the company’s most important device, replacing the iPhone.
WWDC23 will highlight the latest developments in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. As part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to helping developers create innovative apps, the event will also provide unique access to Apple engineers, as well as information on new technologies and tools to help them realize their visions.
