Apple Confirms Release Date for Vision Pro Headset in the United States

Jakarta

After being introduced to the public at WWDC 2023, Apple has now confirmed that the Vision Pro headset will go on sale in the United States on February 2 2024.

The announcement of the first sales of the Vision Pro was made by Apple when many other technology companies were showing off their new products at CES 2024. Apple also started promoting Vision Pro through videos on their YouTube account.

This promotional video looks similar to the first promotional video for the iPhone. The promotional title for the Vision Pro is ‘Get Ready’, which contains video clips from various films and TV series, from Up!, Ant-Man, Star Wars: Episode IV – New Hope, to Iron Man.

Apple made a similar video when promoting the first generation iPhone. In the video entitled “Hello” Apple collects video clips from films and TV series that show people answering the phone.

In the description of the ‘Get Ready’ video, it is stated that orders for the Vision Pro are open starting January 19 and will be officially available in stores starting February 2. This is Apple’s first new product release since the launch of the Apple Watch in 2015.

For information, Vision Pro is a headset device priced at USD 3,500 which was first introduced to the public at WWDC 2023. Apple provides lens equipment for vision correction. There is a Zeiss Optics insert that can magnetically attach to the Vision Pro. Users can get it for USD 99 (Readers) and USD 149 (Prescription).

Vision Pro is positioned primarily as an AR device. However, users can switch between augmented reality and full virtual reality using the dial. The device is controller-free, and users can browse rows of app icons by looking at them.

Users can tap to select and flick to scroll, and can also give voice commands. Additionally, the headset supports Bluetooth accessories and allows users to connect a Mac for use inside the headset.

Apple’s new device runs VisionOS, which is capable of displaying a three-dimensional interface that frees applications from display boundaries so they can appear side by side at any scale. Apple Vision Pro enables users to be more productive, with unlimited screen space, access to their favorite apps, and new ways to multitask.
