Apple closes all its stores in New York due to corona outbreak

The chance that you will soon travel to America to visit New York there is not too great, even if there are still flights available. And if you’re there and want to score an Apple product, that’s going to be difficult.

The various Apple Stores in New York have been closed. The company has decided that after more and more people in the city are carrying the new Omicron variant.

According to the company, it would be a temporary closure. This was not, however, widely publicized. The people of Bloomberg found out. And then they asked for clarification. It turned out that there was a closure of all stores in New York.

It is still possible to order something and then pick it up in the Apple Store. But just walking in and looking around, that’s not an option for the time being. It is not clear how long the closure will be or whether there will be more stores that will follow the example. With the previous outbreaks of corona, many shops have also closed. But in the United States, people want to keep everything normal as much as possible, even though employees within the store must wear a mask at all times.

It is not clear why exactly New York has decided to close the Apple Stores. The company has a rule that a store closes when more than 10 percent of the employees are infected. But since it’s now all over the city, it seems like it’s more of a preventative rule.
