Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Apple’s business has plummeted throughout 2022. This was acknowledged by Apple CEO, Tim Cook, in announcing his business performance in February 2023.

“The challenging situation has kept Appe’s revenue down 5% year-on-year (YoY),” he told analysts, quoted from The Motley Fool, Saturday (20/5/2023).

Even so, Cook boasted that his income in several countries was observed to increase. One of them is in Indonesia.

“We set revenue records in several countries, including Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Brazil and India,” he said.

In the period ending December 2022, Apple pocketed revenue of US $ 117.2 billion.

In terms of iPhone sales, Cook said there was a longer waiting time for the two newest series, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Both had experienced a ‘scarcity’ during the peak of the holiday shopping season.

Supply issues, combined with consumers being extra cautious about spending amid the uncertain economic outlook, led to an 8% drop in iPhone revenue.

“Currently, production is back to normal. However, challenging macroeconomic factors, the war in Eastern Europe, and the pandemic, have also had an impact on Apple’s business,” said Cook.

The Mac laptop line has also decreased by 29%.

Apple’s revenue in China fell 7.3% to US$23.9 billion. In Japan, the tech giant also saw revenue drop 5% to US$6.8 billion. Overall in Asia Pacific, Apple’s revenue also fell 2.8% to US$ 9.5 billion.
