Apple Card was launched in the US in 2019, offering a convenient and secure digital payment solution through Apple Pay. However, for customers who prefer physical cards, Apple provided a titanium card for in-store purchases at locations that don’t accept contactless payments.

Recently, it has come to light that the first batch of titanium Apple Cards is about to expire, prompting Apple to take action and notify the cardholders.

Upcoming Expiration of Titanium Apple Cards

Apple has started sending emails to the early adopters of Apple Card, informing them that their titanium cards are nearing their expiration date. Unlike traditional credit cards, these titanium Apple Cards don’t display the expiration date on the physical card itself. Hence, it caught many cardholders by surprise to learn that the card has a validity of around five years, based on the information provided by Apple (via MacRumors).

Apple has assured customers that they will automatically receive a replacement titanium card at their billing address before the expiration of their current cards. Additionally, Apple emphasized that users can continue using their Apple Card through Apple Pay, ensuring a seamless payment experience at any locations that accept Apple Pay.

“We’re sending a replacement titanium card to your billing address so you can continue to use it at physical locations. Remember, even without a physical card, you can always use your Apple Card at any location that accepts Apple Pay. Your new titanium card will be shipped within 2 weeks from the date of this communication.”

“You can continue to use your titanium card until it expires or you activate the new one. You can still use Apple Card with Apple Pay and your virtual card number to shop at merchants that don’t yet accept Apple Pay by typing in your number from Wallet or using Safari AutoFill.”

Apple also mentioned that the new card will be shipped with a prepaid shipping label, enabling cardholders to send their old Apple Card back to Apple for recycling.

Please note that Apple Card is currently available exclusively in the United States.
