Apple Called Not Presenting a SIM Card Slot for iPhone 15

Suara.com – Apple just launched the iPhone 13 series in September and will soon bring the iPhone 14 starting next year.

It’s unknown whether the regular or non-pro iPhone 15 models are also fully eSIM-enabled or still sport a physical SIM card.

Apple’s plan to ditch the SIM card slot shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Because, the company owned by Tim Cook is planning to present an iPhone without a port at all (portless).

Removing the physical SIM card slot could possibly be the first step to implementing the plan.

If Apple does launch an iPhone 15 without a SIM card slot, then countries that haven’t implemented eSIM technology may still present an iPhone with a SIM slot.

Even so, 2023 is still a long way off. There is no official information on whether Apple will actually remove the physical SIM card slot in the next iPhone 15.

For information, eSIM is a SIM card technology that is integrated or attached directly to the cellphone. Unlike the usual SIM card that requires a physical form.

With this, SIM card replacement becomes more practical because users no longer need to disassemble SIM cards.

To activate it, users only need to scan the barcode on the operator.

So far, Smartfren is the only operator in Indonesia that provides eSIM technology to consumers.

Four other operators such as Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo, 3 (Tri), and XL Axiata have not released the technology to the public.
