Apple Brings Samsung’s Face ID Technology To iPhone 15 Pro

Selular.ID – Apple is making big plans for future iPhone models, according to a new report, Apple is working with Samsung to develop a new screen layer that can easily integrate the front camera and face id sensor of the iPhone 15 Pro.

Reports from the South Korean outlet mention that Samsung and OTI Lumionics are working on an under-display camera (UD) to debut on the Galaxy Z Fold5 in 2023, and then come to the iPhone 15 Pro model later that year.

The report explains that Samsung is developing a new form of organic cathode material that can accommodate the Face ID sensor and under-display camera.

The resulting screen design is not only notch-free, it also allows Apple to reduce the screen bezel size to a minimum, which also increases the overall screen size.

If this report has a solid basis for rumours, it’s possible that Apple could test a pill-hole design for the iPhone 14 series this year, and then completely remove the notch or hole design from the iPhone 15 Pro lineup in 2023.

It is hoped that Apple will find a way to integrate the Touch ID feature into the display or power button, something that has worked effectively with the iPad Air models launched in 2020 and this year as well.

This year’s iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to get a smaller pill-hole design, where the pill carries the Face ID sensor, and that hole houses the front camera.

Apple seems intent on separating the vanilla iPhone and Pro models, in terms of features and technology.
