In response to the situation where the third-party service Beeper Mini exploited a system vulnerability to allow Android devices to send Apple iMessage content, Apple earlier confirmed that it had filled the relevant vulnerability, which means that the Beeper Mini service can no longer be used smoothly.
Currently, an error message will appear when sending iMessages through Beeper Mini, and Beeper Mini developer Beeper said it will evaluate other methods to allow the Beeper Mini service to continue to operate.

As for Apple’s statement, in order to protect user privacy and security, it has currently blocked access to iMessage servers through fake authentication information to avoid potential information leakage and subsequent spam or phishing attacks.
In the Beeper Mini operating mode, it mainly uses its service to disguise itself as an iOS device, thereby accessing the iMessage service verification, and then obtaining the user’s message from it, and passing the message to the user’s Android phone through forwarding, or Send messages to iOS devices via Android phones.
Although Beeper emphasized that its technology is fully encrypted and only users can see the content of the messages they send, because its service operation mode could not allow Apple to successfully verify the security, it was ultimately considered to be a potential risk, so its service operation mode was ultimately blocked. .
Apple is expected to add support for the RCS messaging system in 2024, which may become a complete messaging bridge between Android devices and iOS devices. However, Apple has stated that even if support for the RCS messaging system is added in the future, messages sent through iMessage will still be presented in the form of blue bubbles, while RCS messages implemented through the Android platform will remain presented in the form of green bubbles, so it may not be suitable for some people. Users will still feel “estranged”.
