On November 10, Apple will hold a virtual press conference called ‘One More Thing’. The company is expected to announce new Macs, for the first time without an Intel processor.
–
Plans to move away from Intel chips were announced in June of this year. Apple then promised to launch the first computers with its own Apple Silicon CPU in the fall of 2020 and seems to want to stick to that.
–
We will probably learn more about this at the (virtual) press conference on November 10 at 7 pm our time in the Apple Park. The invitation to the event contains the striking phrase ‘One More Thing’. It was used in the past, especially by the late CEO Steve Jobs, to present important product announcements.
–
The last time the phrase was used by the current CEO, Tim Cook, was during the launch of the iPhone X in 2017.
–
In addition to new Macs, there is a good chance that we will hear a launch date for macOS 11 Big Sur, the operating system on which the MacBook runs, among other things. Big Sur was announced at WWDC in June and has been available as a beta for several months now.
