Apple intends to redesign the upcoming iPhone operating system, iOS 18.
Apple stated that it seeks to add major changes and features to the iOS 18 system, and will also redesign the macOS system on Mac devices within a year or two. Apple is expected to unveil new versions of its operating systems for its various devices, and a broad integration of artificial intelligence features into those systems, in the middle of this year, within the activities of its annual developers conference.
It is noteworthy that Apple has maintained the design of the iOS system for many years, made limited modifications in the design of the user interface, and introduced some additions such as mini applications (widgets) on the home screen and lock screen, and giving users the ability to customize some elements. As for the macOS operating system, Apple has begun working on design changes to the system that could appear for the first time in 2025 or 2026. Apple last redesigned the system with the release of macOS Big Sur in 2020.
