Experts’ expectations have come true that Apple has officially announced the launch of the new generation of the Apple Pencil, with a completely new set of specifications.
Apple revealed through its official online store the launch of this new generation of the Apple Pencil, the most prominent feature of which was that it comes with a USB C port, so that Apple will continue implementing its new policy in launching its devices that support this type of port, similar to the latest versions of the iPhone 15.
The new pen is offered by Apple at a price of $79, which is an average cost level compared to the price at which the first version of the pen was offered at $99, and the second generation of it, which was offered at $129.
In addition to the most prominent features that Apple introduced in this third generation of the smart pen, which is the USB C port, there were other specifications that were revealed regarding the new device, including that it does not support the wireless charging feature.
It will also support all the scrolling features on the M2 iPad Pro, in addition to supporting the magnetic mounting feature on the side of the iPad.
Among the specifications absent from the new version of the pen is the pressure sensitivity support feature that Apple provided with the first and second generations of it, while this new generation of the pen comes with support for the quick response feature to input, and the feature of higher sensitivity to tilting the pen when shading.
The Apple Smart Pen in its new generation has dimensions of 7.5 by 155 mm and a weight of 20.5 grams, which is the same weight with which Apple introduced the second generation of the Smart Pen.
This new version of the pen will be available starting in November, and Apple has announced the list of iPad devices that it is scheduled to be compatible with, which includes the following versions:
2022 iPad Air, 2022 iPad Air, 2020 iPad Air, 2021 iPad Mini, and 2022 iPad Pro 12.9.
And each of the 2022 iPad Pro 11 edition, the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 edition, the 2020 iPad Pro 11 edition, the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 edition, and the 2018 iPad Pro 11 edition.
