The report follows a Friday statement from Hyundai Motor announcing initial talks with Apple, after another local media outlet said the two were aiming to commercialize an autonomous electric car by 2027, sending Hyundai’s shares soaring nearly a year. twenty%.
The recent report, which cited industry sources, said the two plan to assemble the cars at the Kia Motors factory in Georgia, or jointly invest in a new complex in the United States, to produce 100,000 vehicles by 2024 at a facility with a capacity annual of 400,000 vehicles. The report said that Hyundai and Apple plan to launch a “beta version” of Apple vehicles next year.
