Apple and Amazon are targets of new investigations, now in Spain!

A Apple and Amazon are back in the spotlight for the worst reasons, this time in Spain. The CNMC agency launched an investigation into the two giants, for alleged anti-competitive practices regarding the online sale of electronic products.

As the agency said last Thursday, the disciplinary process was started due to alleged unfair conduct by both companies and which could result in heavy restrictions on the website of the Amazon in Spain. As far as Apple is concerned, restrictions may mostly affect the sale of official products by third parties.

However, it is possible that we still have to wait a long time for the results of the investigation to be known. Processes initiated by the CNMC can be extended for a maximum period of 18 months.

Amazon has already responded to the investigation and says it is ready to cooperate 100%

If, on the one hand, Apple has not yet made itself heard regarding the initiation of this investigation, Amazon Spain was quick to guarantee that it is cooperating 100% with the authorities in this process.

Of course, Amazon doesn’t want to see its business in Spain be disturbed by these allegations, and it’s in its best interest to have everything sorted out as quickly as possible. In addition to its great success in the Spanish market, Amazon ES has gained more and more customers in Portugal.
