In a message sent to the website ForbesApple representatives inform that they are aware of the problem of overheating iPhone 15 and are already working to solve it:
We’ve identified several factors that can cause your iPhone to run hotter than expected. Your device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring your device due to increased background activity. We also found a bug in iOS 17 that affects some users and will be resolved in a software update. Another issue concerns some recent updates to third-party applications that cause system congestion. We are working with the developers of these applications on fixes that are currently being rolled out.
– this message shows that the issue does not apply only to iPhone 15. Problems with overheating of phones may also affect previous generations of iPhones running iOS 17. While in the case of the first scenarios I can somehow justify them , so situations in which the system and applications cause excessive overheating should not occur. iOS 17 is not tested for many months before its official premiere so that there may be problems with the operation of the hardware.

It is also surprising that Apple was silent for a week after the release of iPhone 15 and two weeks after the release of iOS 17 and did not in any way address the situation of users who massively reported problems with the equipment. And this started a wave of speculations and theories about the whole situation. From faulty units, to design flaws, poorly designed A17 Pro system and much more. Analysts and specialists pointed out that it was not a problem with the components or the titanium frame of the iPhone 15 Pro. And apparently they were right.
Hot iPhones? The issue will be solved by the iOS 17 update
Unfortunately, Apple does not reveal which applications cause excessive overheating of iPhones – which is a pity, because users could opt out of them for the period in which appropriate updates are introduced. However, there is no shortage of comments online that this is primarily about Instagram performing additional tasks in the background that excessively use the resources of phones running iOS 17 – because according to all official information, this situation does not only apply to iPhone 15.

However, it cannot be denied that this year’s releases are the focus of attention, as they are tested on a massive scale by reviewers, tech YouTubers and ordinary users who vent their justified frustration online. Because no one could probably imagine a situation in which we spend several thousand zlotys on equipment that cannot be held in our hands due to excessive heating. I secretly hope that the appropriate update will soon see the light of day – both from the application developers and the iOS system itself. Will it be iOS 17.1, which has just received its first beta version? I think we will receive an update that solves the overheating problem on iPhones sooner.
