How long will the Czechs continue to enjoy the fact that stores sell them food of literally appalling quality? Of course, the manufacturers themselves are also to blame, but this problem must be solved comprehensively. For example, food sellers have to pay producers enough money for their products so that they can ensure production of appropriate quality and, above all, ensure at least the basic safety of these foods.

It’s all gone now

Unfortunately, this kind of thing does not happen in our country for a long time, and the result is constant seizures of popular foods that are sold in bulk, but then it is found that they are highly objectionable. It is important to remember that we consume these products on a daily basis and also give them to our children. So it should be in everyone’s interest that we can at least rely on them not doing anything to us. A nice bonus would then be if they were good and of good quality.

In this case, there was a really serious finding that cannot be taken lightly. It is a Parisian salad from the manufacturer Antonín Jelínek, who is engaged in the production of cold kitchen products, which are then sold in various stores. “Laboratory analysis in an accredited laboratory confirmed the presence of the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, which causes listeriosis, in the product.” she stated in her reporting Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority.

However, it is necessary to dwell on the form of reporting. We already have a seizure that was published several times in the past weeks, but the sample was actually taken already on April 26 of this year, i.e. five or five months ago. The expiration date of this Parisian salad was May 6. It is therefore reasonable to assume that most of this batch has already been sold and even consumed. Of course, someone may still have a salad in the freezer and in that case they should not eat it, but such cases will probably be few and far between.

What to take from it?

Unfortunately, the majority of people have eaten this dangerous product. But what to take from the notice of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection? Probably so much so that this manufacturer has already made a mistake at least once and it is not excluded that it will happen again. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to his products and it is a question whether to buy them at all when there are so many others on the market.

It seems that in the case of these laboratory analyzes of fresh food, there will always be some delay in SZPI, as is the case, for example, with the recent cases of contaminated chicken meat. However, it does publish these findings, and while it doesn’t say it outright, it’s probably meant to be a real guide for consumers.
