The Apostolic Genootschap was founded in 1951 by the first Dutch apostle, Lambertus Slok. In its heyday it had 30,000 members, today it still had 14,000 members and sympathizers. The society calls itself an “open, ideological, liberal organization”.
Creation is seen as a mystery and the Bible is seen in this religion as a valuable collection of stories and metaphors, but not as the word of god. That is why in 2012 the Society was labeled as “liberal.”
