Apollonia 2023 meets the audience with unique exhibitions of Bulgarian photographers and artists

For the 39th time, Sozopol will become the capital of art in Bulgaria.

This year’s edition of Apollonia Arts Festival will delight art lovers with the inspiring exhibitions “The Return of Lotte Mihailova. Shy Intimacy’ with stunning photographs, a presentation of works by graduates of the National Academy of Art and the exhibition of selected posters ‘Women and the International Triennial of the Stage Poster’.

Each of them can be viewed in the Art Gallery in Sozopol throughout the Apollonia period, and the full program with all interesting events of the festival can be viewed on the website – https://apollonia.bg/.

On August 28, at 6:00 p.m., the exhibition “The Return of Lotte Mihailova. Shy Intimacy’. Fans of photography will be able to view Lotte Mihailova’s photos, which show female sensitivity and present the ordinary in an extraordinary way, until September 5.

Her work has been honored with 44 awards from national and international photo exhibitions. At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1964, she received the Grand Prize for Film Photography and the First Prize for Film Advertising Photography. Tickets for the exhibition are available on the Eventim network.

Selected especially for Apollonia, the exhibition “Women and the International Triennial of the Stage Poster” will celebrate the achievements of 22 contemporary Bulgarian and international poster artists from the last three decades. The triennial has established itself as one of the most successful international exhibitions in the field of graphic design with a focus on the stage poster.

An exhibition of graduates from the National Academy of Arts will showcase the works of young talents also on August 28 at 6:00 p.m.

For 127 years, the Academy of Fine Arts has actively participated in the development of Bulgarian artistic culture and education, with its main priority always being the formation of professional artists in the various fields of fine and applied arts, design and art studies.

Apollonia 2023 will once again bring together art, theater, music and cinema in one place and will turn Sozopol into a cultural center. A number of concerts, performances and other exciting events will light up the seaside town from August 28 to September 5.
