Apex Legends players are being affected by hack; “Save Titanfall”

Since early morning, players from Apex Legends have reported that the game is being affected by a hack that is taking over the title’s match lists and that is preventing them from playing.

The hack, which was initially only affecting PC gamers, has spread throughout the day and is now affecting PC, Xbox One and PS4 gamers around the world.

Upon accessing the title, an “important message” appears asking players to access savetitanfall.com. After that, players can no longer play, getting stuck on the home screen with the mode selection icon inaccessible with a message saying “TF1 is under attack so is Apex too”.

The protest, which is being made by a hacker not affiliated with the site in question, is taking place as players report that Titanfall, a title released in 2014 for PC and Xbox, is currently unplayable because it was taken by hackers, accusing EA of “fraud” for not taking any action to solve this problem.

What Apex Legends, developed by the same studio, Respawn Entertainment, takes place in the same universe and is one of EA’s most active and profitable games, the hacker seems to have decided to cut off players’ access to it because of that.

It is important to remember that July 4th is a public holiday in the US, marking the anniversary of American independence, and it is very likely that the Respawn team was not available to solve the problem quickly, which, along with the increase in the flow of players, must have motivated to choose the date.

Still, the developer has come out saying it is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. As we can see, the hack is affecting players outside the US as well and you can get around it by closing the game and starting it again, but the message always comes back.
