Apex Legends Dev Confirms Changes To Golden Takedown Shields

Respawn Entertainment is making some adjustments to its popular battle royale video game, with a number of changes coming in Season 13, Apex Legends players have had a lot of new things to deal with after the update.

Something that we find quite curious is that, the changes in ranked were, at first, welcomed by the community, but since then they have caused headaches. Players are not only frustrated by the new rank distribution, but the gold knockdown shields have also been a sore spot.

Players, both casual and professional, have regularly complained about the power of the survival element in ranked, calling for it to be removed altogether. While that is not going to happen, changes will eventually come.

We should mention that the topic of knockdown shields was raised with Respawn’s Evan Nikolich during an interview with The Loadout, and the Apex Legends design director noted that they’ve heard the feedback.

“I won’t commit to anything at this time, but we are evaluating and there will be changes in the future,” Nikolich said, urging fans to continue to make their voices heard regarding feedback. Obviously it would be nice to have a point on when the change might come, but Respawn is clearly working hard to address the issue given that they’ve now doubled down on a change.
