“Aperol from the buckets”: jokes on Instagram about Erik Lesser and Dorothea Wierer

Many (former) stars use their free time from biathlon in the summer for vacation trips and share the corresponding images on Instagram. Retired former world champion Erik Lesser, Italian biathlon queen Dorothea Wierer and another former ski hunter have now had a fun swap on social networks.

Live like God in France, or like Erik Lesser in Crete: without the pressure of having to prepare for the upcoming biathlon winter, the 34-year-old is fully enjoying the summer after retirement.

More recently, Lesser shared several photos of his dream vacation on the Greek island via Instagram, more specifically in the bay of Karteros near Heraklion. You can see a beautiful sunset shot from an idyllic beach bar by the sea, or Lesser posing in front of a helicopter.

In another photo, the 2015 double world champion and three-time Olympic medalist enjoys sipping a drink. “A week’s vacation is over. I tried the best ‘Doro style’,” wrote Lesser. A nod to the Italian biathlon superstar Dorothea Wierer.

The 32-year-old also regularly delights her fans and Instagram followers with stunning holiday photos, even with her favorite Aperol Spritz drink in hand.

Wierer also commented on Lesser’s humorous post with two emojis laughing in tears.

Michael Rösch, gold medal in the Turin biathlon in 2006 and a good friend of Lesser, also intervened in the jokes between the two.

“You should have poured yourself a bucketful Aperol à la Doro,” says the 39-year-old, who now works as a television expert for “Eurosport”.

Biathlon: Michael Rösch bets his hair

Lesser and Rösch had already made headlines with a curious action in the spring.

At the last Biathlon World Cup in Holmenkollen, Rösch bet that Lesser would not get on the podium in the chase, otherwise he would go bald.

Since Lesser even climbed to first place in the last race of his career, Rösch actually lost his hair afterwards.
