Apartment Building Collapse in Belgorod: Latest Updates on Ukrainian Attack

Part of an apartment building collapsed in the Russian city of Belgorod. The district governor reports this Telegram. According to him, this was the result of the Ukrainian attack and first the ten lower floors of the building partially collapsed. The Ukrainian authorities have not confirmed that they attacked the city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that it has shot down several Ukrainian missiles. The debris is said to have damaged the apartment building.

Russian state news agency TASS reports that at least five people were injured. There are fears that people are still under the rubble. Russian media are talking about several deaths. Russian authorities report that 12 people have been rescued.

Part of the upper floor of the affected apartment building has now also collapsed, TASS reports. It is not clear if there were any new victims. Images on social media show onlookers scattering as the roof collapses.

The Belgorod region has been the target of more frequent attacks. Yesterday, the governor reported that Ukrainian attacks had one person dead and 29 wounded. In the morning the governor reported several air raid sirens.
