Apart from Covid-19, North Jakarta recorded 121 cases of dengue fever during January-February 2022

WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, JAKARTA — The North Jakarta Health Sub-dept. recorded that there were 121 cases dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) occurred in North Jakarta from January to February 2022.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) North Jakarta Health Sub-dept. Arief Wahyudi said from reports there were 105 cases in January and 16 cases in February.

“Number of cases DBD recorded is still low. It’s just that we ask the public to remain vigilant about the spread of cases DBD,” he said, Monday (21/2/2022).

Arief revealed that the current rainy season has the potential to make mosquitoes that cause mosquitoes DBD breed.

“Although the case is low, we still have to be vigilant because it is currently the rainy season and the humidity in the air has the potential to breed mosquitoes,” he continued.

In addition, the community is also asked to be active in carrying out the eradication of mosquito nests to prevent dengue cases with the one house one jumantik movement.

“Similarly in public places, in all arrangements (prevention must be done),” he said.

Previously, North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim asked his staff and the public to be aware of dengue cases by implementing clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS).

In addition, the movement of draining, closing water reservoirs, burying used goods (3M) has also proven to be effective in preventing disease DBD which can be deadly.
