WEST HALMAHERA, KOMPAS.TVBrigadier Nikmal Idwar, the perpetrator of the rape of a minor at the South Jailolo Police Headquarters, West Halmahera, North Maluku, has been named a suspect.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Adip Rojikan, said that Brigadier Nikmal Idwar had been detained at the Ternate Police.

“The person in question is currently being held at the Ternate Police Rutan, so it’s not just a suspect,” said Adip, quoted from Antara Tribunnews.com, Thursday (24/6/2021).

Adip emphasized that the North Maluku Police would not tolerate the suspect Brigadier Nikmal even though he was a member of the National Police.

“So the North Maluku Police do not tolerate unscrupulous members who have committed violations,” said Adip.

Adip said that his party had also carried out reconstruction related to this case. The case file will soon be transferred to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) for the trial process.
