The rest of the athletes of the Latvian luge sports team have won a place in the strongest group (12 best) after the points obtained in the last three stages of the World Cup. Last weekend in Sigulda, Latvian athletes set four new track records, won four gold and one silver medal.
Mārtiņš Bots: “Last weekend we showed two good times, which allowed us to break the track record in both the first and second race. Despite that, we still have room to improve the quality of the ride in the upcoming European Championship.”
“When it comes to the European Championship, the success of the previous week does not give us any advantages. In the European Championship, everything will start from scratch. Just like last weekend, we will go to the track to fight for the highest prizes,” said Roberts Plume at the press conference.
This weekend, January 14 and 15, the competition in Sigulda will continue with the fifth stage of the World Cup and team relay in cooperation, as well as the 54th European Championship.
It is also important to note that on Saturday at At 10:00 a.m. before the start of the two-seater crew competition, the titled Latvian duo Andris and Juris Šici will make their final trip to the international luge sports scene.
